Claude Monet: Jardin à Sainte-Adresse

Warm and peaceful colors help the artist to express a hot, summer day. Only cool wind, which waves the sea and the flags, saves people from heat. Brightness and depth of colors vivify the picture and arrest sight. The composition is horizontal; the lines of the sea and the border make such impression. Peaceful is felt in each flower and people’s poses. People with their belonging to the upper-class society add to the picture the notes of aristocracy. The elements of the painting have been placed specially to make us pay attention on the front part and see harmonious colors and then into the distance where the sea and the sky relax an eye. Freshness and beauty of the painting impress me and make me want to be there.  Claude Monet represented a wonderful afternoon with all its calm, peaceful, and warm atmosphere.
